Rindu itu sia-sia. Meski tahu sebab mengapa. Bukan getir atau kecewa. Sekedar berujar pada yang tak bertanya.
Ia tak guna bukan kepalang. Ia hadir saat ada yang hilang. Ia kembali saat ada yang dikenang.

Adakah yang menanti menanti? Merindu merindu?

Mungkin sanggahmu rindu menjawab hati yang bertanya. Rindu meresah raga terpisah. Ia menghela jarak, menyekap waktu. Ia membuat kita tahu. Siapa yang berarti. Apa yang dinanti.

This… Stuff?

‘This… Stuff’?

Oh, okay, I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select, I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue. It’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean. And you’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yyes Saint Laurent, wasn’t it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it filtered down through the department stores, and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin.

However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs. And it’s sort comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room… from a pile of stuff.

Definitely one of my favorite lines and scenes from the movie. And I’ve said that I can never get tired of watching this one. Of course, Meryl Streep is eerily brilliant.

Recollection

It’s always interesting to look back. I’m known for being dramatic and sentimental. I always try to hold on to so many things for sentimental reasons. Sometimes I can’t even throw away old notebooks just for the sake of looking at it and think “hey, I had this when I was 8.”

One thing that I feel better of now is that I’ve become more aware of how these things I do could harm me. It’s almost like I’m masochistic. I try to make it more meaningful by keeping it inside and recollect it every now and then just to show how much I care. I think I’m one of those people who don’t know how important it is to be able to let go. I didn’t know that it’s unhealthy until I realize how sick I was. Now I know.

Manusia Setengah Salmon by Raditya Dika

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Buku terbaru Raditya Dika ini… Bagus. Seriously. I think it’s one of his best (setelah Kambingjantan). Though I can’t be sure because I haven’t read this one book from him (Marmut Merah Jambu. It was so hyped, and I couldn’t care).
It made me quite nostalgic. Haha. It’s been quite a while since I first got hold of his first book. Tepatnya di Gramedia Matraman yang waktu itu belum direnovasi dan gue masih berseragam SMA. And it was so funny. I’ve liked the guy ever since. And in this one, he’s grown. Hahah.
Manusia Setengah Salmon really impressed me. :D Ada mood yang sangat beda dan gue menghargai itu dari buku ini. I still find myself laughing hard at his raw silliness but then I find myself agreeing and nodding or smiling or surprised while reading his reflective take on more grown up things in life. It’s different. And maybe I just didn’t expect it. Well done.

*Satu catatan sih, entah karena mau buru-buru cetak atau gimana, tapi di buku ini menurut gue terlalu banyak noticeable mistakes yang harusnya tidak ada karena sudah melalui proofreading dan editing.

Contoh: semua kata yang ada “elit”-nya diganti jadi “elite”. Mungkin maksudnya mau ngedit khusus kata itu. Tapi kata “pelit” ikutan jadi “pelite” dan “belit” jadi “belite”. Hahahah. Penting lho! Masa kesannya seasal itu, main “Replace All” aja. Terus gue menemukan satu tokoh yang disebut dengan dua nama berbeda dan keliatan banget salah satunya nama samaran dan satunya lupa diganti. :)) Dan masih ada yang lain-lain lagi yang gue udah lupa. This made me frown a bit. It seems kinda reckless and hasty.

Severus Snape (9 January, 1960 – 2 May, 1998) was a half-blood wizard who was the son of the witch Eileen Prince & Muggle, Tobias Snape.
Severus Snape’s portrait was not automatically put into the Headmaster’s office since he had abandoned his post during the Hogwarts battle.
However, Harry Potter, in one of his acts of showing reconciliation towards Snape, made sure that his portrait was placed there.
Albus Severus Potter, the second son of Harry, and the only one of Harry’s children to have inherited Lily’s eyes, was named after Snape.
Rita Skeeter published a book about Snape’s life, entitled Snape: Scoundrel or Saint?, sometime after his death.
Alan Rickman was Rowling’s first choice for the role of Severus Snape.
Alan Rickman had known Severus Snape’s real story before anyone else did. He used this knowledge by deciding how to play certain scenes.
When the directors asked him why he was doing a scene in a specific manner, Rickman simply replied that he knew something they didn’t.
Dumbledore never did anything about Snape’s behaviour in class because he believed that horrible teachers are one of the lessons in life.
Snape, who taught Potions, was loosely inspired by an unpleasant teacher JKR had in high school who taught chemistry.
JKR never really thought of Snape as being a hero. Though he was immensely courageous, he was also quite spiteful and a bully.
Snape was one of the youngest teachers to be recruited at Hogwarts school. He had been teaching potions since 21 years old.
Lily Evans would have grown to love Snape romantically if he wasn’t so drawn to the Dark Arts.
Severus Snape is the only Death Eater who could conjure a Patronus.

Sisa

Menapak ia keluar pintu rumahnya. Kakinya terlindung sepatu usang dan kotor. Dipandanginya untuk melihat-lihat apakah alas kaki itu terlalu dekil. Jantungnya berdegup lebih kencang seketika ia teringat mengapa kotornya menjadi sedemikian. Suatu hari sepatunya dipinjam. Padahal ia baru saja kering setelah dicuci. Begitu dipulangkan ia sudah kotor oleh tanah kering seperti ini.

Rupanya masih bertemu saja dia dengan sisa-sisa keberadaannya; hal-hal kecil tak berarti. Kali ini kotoran di sepatu lama.

“Sudahlah,” pikirnya. Ia mengunci pintu di belakangnya dan beranjak pergi. “Pulang nanti akan aku cuci,” katanya dalam hati.

Something about it assured me. It’s a stupid reason but I knew right away it was going to happen. A smile across my face and a secret inside my head. I knew I didn’t have to try because it was meant to be.
